Special Alert - 3 Important Things

SPECIAL ALERT - 3 IMPORTANT THINGS

  1. DEALER LICENSING ON THE MOVE

This week, we will most likely see the pet project of Mark Kelly & Gabby move in the Illinois House. As mentioned in previous correspondences, the "Dealer Licensing Act" would make life so difficult for lawful firearm retailers that most shops would go out of business. We expect the Dealer Licensing Act to be introduced as an amendment to a shell bill that has the number HB1016. Please contact your legislators and remind them that, as a lawful firearm owner, you oppose any form of state firearm dealer licensing.

  2. GOOD COPS ARE NOT HACKS

We regret that some people misconstrued the meaning of a recent correspondence in which we used the phrase, "...anti-gun CPD hacks." In no way was the term meant to imply that all members of the CPD team are anti-gun. Rather, the term was directed at the political hacks that litter the upper echelons of the department. It is certainly no secret that the Chicago Police Department, through policy and practice, has been antagonistic toward civilian firearm owners for many decades. The ISRA is well aware that there is a definite split in opinions on private firearm ownership between the department administration and the cop on the street. The ISRA officially salutes the many fine CPD officers who remain true to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights despite the best efforts of their gun-grabbing superiors.

  3. SUMMERTIME GUN FUN

Believe it or not, summer is right around the corner. It won't be long until everyone's thoughts will turn to planning fun summer activities. With that in mind, we want to remind you to keep the ISRA Range in your plans. Whether you're looking for formal training, or just looking to spend some time honing your shooting skills, the ISRA Range is the place to be. Would you like to learn more about ISRA Range membership plans or see a schedule of our training activities? If so, head on over to http://www.isra.org and check out the range schedule. Remember, it doesn't make much sense to have a right to keep and bear arms if you don't take the opportunity to exercise it!
